OK, these pics are really scary. This is Pete Burns, the singer from "Dead or Alive"...Pete has gone wild with plastic surgery. Not all plastic surgery turns out this bad, but some does. At
www.awfulplasticsurgery.com you can see what the celebrities do to themselves. Natalie Imbruglia's boob-job turned out ok though...:-)

Steve Ballmer's iPod - Dance, Monkey Boy, DANCE!

Recognize these two cool-looking gents?
Macboy.com has a cartoon section in which you can find
a very funny animation.
Dance, Monkey Boy, DANCE! Get on your feet, and give it up for Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, celebrating the new Windows-compatible iTunes service. Parody of the new Apple iPod ads, with a touch of Balmy Ballmer's silhou-wet underarms.
Click
HERE to see the REAL monkey dance and
HERE for another "great" Ballmer performance :-) Do not miss 'em,- they're really scary!!

Twenty Questions is an experiment in artificial intelligence. The program is very simple but its behavior is complex. Everything that it knows and all questions that it asks were entered by people playing this game. 20Q.net is a learning system; the more it is played, the smarter it gets.
Think of an object and answer the questions! I was thinking of a screw when I did the test,- 20Q guessed it!

Software pick of the week - Omnigraffle

One of my favourite apps for MacOS X is
"Omnigraffle" made by
The Omni Group (the makers of
Omniweb). Omnigraffle is simply a fantastic program. It'll help you create great looking flowcharts, diagrams, family trees, org charts, layouts etc. It's so easy to use and with very little effort you'll be able to create really cool charts and diagrams. I'm by no means any good at doing graphical work on my mac, but I still managed to create
this diagram for my dissertation on ecotoxicology using Omnigraffle,- you'll most likely be able to create something waaay cooler..:-)
Omnigraffle has earned itself a 4.8 rating (out of 5) on
MacUpdate.com, -a well-deserved rating. You can download a demoversion of Omnigraffle
here,- if you decide to buy Omnigraffle AND you're a student, you can get a discount. It's only 41.99$,-and that's a bargain. Check it out!!!

I thought about this post for a looong time. I've been surfing the net for some time now to find some answers. Is it illegal to link to a site that in turn links to places where you can download bootlegs for free? It proved to be a difficult question to answer. It turns out that as long I'm not using "deep links" to the download sources, I'm not violating any laws. Is it illegal for you to download the bootlegs? I don't know to be honest, but i don't think it is. Most recording artists and record companies, don't mind fans sharing bootlegs,- as long as there's no money involved. The last part is important! As a general guide, authorities tend to turn a blind eye to bootlegging as a hobby, usually only targeting those who do it as a business. The sound quality of bootlegs is often (but certainly not always) quite poor and it's only "die-hard" fans that will appreciate the recordings,- I guess that's why noncommercial bootlegs are tolerated. Some of the links are actually posted on the artists fanpage forums, so I really don't think they mind. Some artists even endorse the noncommercial trading of bootlegs. Most known is
The Grateful Dead,
Pearl Jam and
U2....
Anyway...
here's the link to "Bootlegs"...Here are some of the artists featured on the site,- in total there's something like 300 links!
Tori Amos
Audioslave
Blur
David Bowie
Butthole Surfers
Cardigans
Coldplay
The Cure
Depeche Mode
Bob Dylan
Foo Figthers
Kate Bush
.
.
.
The sound quality of some of the bootlegs are superb!!
Enjoy :-)
