As some of you might have noticed, some of the images on my blog has been loading extremely slow the last couple of days. If I want to have images on my blog I have to link to them from somewhere,- Blogdrive doesn't allow for me to upload images. Linking to an image on somebody's site isn't very nice...actually if I do so, I'm stealing bandwidth from the person who hosts the images. Since I always try to be a nice guy (cough) i host my own images and mpeg's at my other
site. Last week I uploaded the
"Human Dolphins" mpeg (see two entries below) to that site, and posted a link to it at one of those "If-you-are-bored-come-here-and-waste-your-time-and-have-fun"-sites. Apparently a lot of people liked it! Friday I had 5200 visitors to the site within 24 hours, which is 3.6 visitor every single minute each one downloading a 8 mb file. My
ISP didn't belive I would ever use that much bandwidth (can't blame them), so they had initially put the bandwidth-limit a little too low. I mailed them yesterday confronting them with the problem, and today they responded that they had tripled the bandwidth free of charge (good ISP good ISP..sit!). They actually offered me to crank up the bandwidth even more if needed. Great service!!!
Anyway, I checked my traffic-report yesterday which showed that, nearly 60 sites had linked to the
"Human Dophins"-file. Among them was Swedens biggest newspaper
Aftonbladet,- no wonder I had a lot of traffic!
